Wednesday Wishlist: Oh My Love

Anyone else stuck in a rut of old denim shorts and a boring t-shirt in this heat? Or is that just me?

Well I say let's break out of this rut! Let's start dressing for Summer in style, taking inspiration from bloggers from exotic lands and bohemian festival-goers.

One of my personal favourite etail pr brands is oh my love, they're always one step ahead of the trends and my go-to for quirky accessories such as these Daisy Thomas sunglasses. Also take a look at these neon dino shades - I'm in love!

What are you wearing this Summer? Will you be taking inspiration from this outfit idea? Let me know on my blog tie-dye-eyes. Now get outside and look glamorous, but make sure you wear suncream ;)

Review of Garnier PureActive 3 in 1 by Merilin

Hey guys it's Merilin from Merilinzz! I think I've become kind of obsessed with skin care lately, I've bought and tried out so many new products and I definitely have my 'super products' and 'the not so good ones' By now I'm pretty clear about what works well on my skin and I'm really starting to see the difference. So today I'm sharing a great product that I love so very much. It is the Garnier PureActive 3in1 wash scrub and mask

In Estonia it is quite new, I saw it in a store and I thought to give it a shot since as the product promises, it's a wash, scrub and mask in one and I was currently out of my favourite face wash. I think I accidentally took the wrong one because it says oily skin but I consider myself more like dry to combination.

To be honest, lately I've been loving Garnier products, so I had high expectations for this one and I have to say, it lived up to them! For now I've been using it 7 times and didn't use any other new product so the changes are all thanks to this one, my skin feels so much softer and it's just smoother, I don't need so much concealer anymore. Also my pimples and blackheads have magically faded. As it says in the package, it purifies, cleans pores and mattifies.

The consistency is almost like toothpaste, and it kinda looks like one too. When I first applied it, I was a little shocked, the moment that it's on your face, it's not the best feeling. It almost like pulls your skin, tightens it and you feel like your face is so dry. But when you start washing it off, first it feels a little slimy and as you get the top layer off you start feeling the softness of your skin, literally, the change was noticeable after first use. I like to put my moisturiser (Garnier moisture match cream) on my face after I've washed it all off because I feel like it leaves my skin a bit dry after using it. You can already feel the difference as you apply the moisturiser, skin is just so much better. And when the moisturiser is soaked in, skin feels so light and pure, as the product says!

I like the application too, you just squeeze it from the tube. Some masks come in little jars and some come with a wand kind of applicator but I personally prefer the tube. All in all, if you feel like you need some cleansing on your face then i would highly recommend you to go for this one, just make sure that you get the right one for your skin type, and as Garnier is not a high-end product, the price was really good, somewhere around 5€, depends on where you buy it.

Into The Row

This week there's a new bag in town. The Proenza Schouler Medium Tweed is a bag guaranteed to make you second guess how much you value your checking and savings account. Is it worth the splurge? Yes, because it's important to treat your bags as an investment. This is going to be that bag you will have years from now and it's still going to be great condition. What I like about the Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Tweed are the adjustable straps allowing you to wear it as a crossbody or as a handbag. If you need something that's going hold all your makeup and other essentials in each compartment then I highly suggest this bag.

When you open the bag there are two compartments in the front, one in the middle and a compartment on the back of the bag. I think that's all you need because you don't want to overdue it and make the bag look super bulky. Editor-in-Chief of Lucky Magazine, Eva Chen, is a huge fan of the medium tweed and mentioned to me via Twitter that she ordered it in blue. I love the fact its tweed and not just the typical leather all over because sometimes you have change it. I know nothing about designing handbags but as a consumer creativity does go a long way.
Retailing for a whooping $1,525.00, the Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium Tweed in blue, grey, and pink is currently sold out on the company website.

Beauty Tricks by Balsam

Hey beautifuls!

The world of makeup is a never ending work of art, and many makeup artists and users around the world have established several ways to perform some 'beauty tricks' using makeup to achieve the desired final look. Such tricks include bringing out your natural beauty features and making them seem more noticeable, contouring and highlighting the face, and even making your eyes appear larger/smaller! which is exactly what I will guide you through today.
I will be sharing with you my personal favorite products that enable me to make my eyes larger or smaller - according to occasion and preference, along with super easy steps that you can follow at home!
Note that under each step I will write two alternatives to give you both larger or smaller looking eyes

One: Trick using colored eye pencils

For larger eyes: use white or skin-colored eye pencil on your lower waterline to give the illusion of having larger eyes.
For smaller eyes: use darker colored eye pencils - such as black or dark brown - on your waterlines to make your eyes appear smaller, easy right?
My favorite products for this step:
'Natural glaze' by Max Factor
White Kohl by Clairs
Black kohl pencil by Dior

Two: Contouring the crease of your eye

For larger eyes: Contour the crease of your eyes using matte shade of brown that is a little darker than your original skin color. You will need a basic eye brush (I use the M.A.C 239 to apply the color directly onto my crease, then change to a fluffy brush to blend the color to give a natural finish - the two brushes I usually use for this are shown on the image below)
For smaller eyes: you simply skip the contouring of the eyes, and carry on with your usual makeup routine. I personally tend to contour my eyes for almost every makeup look that I do, but it is your personal choice :)
I usually use several eye shadows from M.A.C, M.A.C 239 brush and a fluffy eye brush from flormar for this step. The way I do this is by applying 'Malt' by M.A.C or any light colored matte shadow all over the eye lid, followed by 'Espresso' by M.A.C on the crease to contour.

'Malt' by M.A.C
'Espresso' by M.A.C

Three: Eye shadow color choice matters!

For larger eyes: Use pastel/lighter eye shadow colors for your eyes to open up the eyes and thus make them look larger than they actually are!
For smaller eyes: You can predict this!! ... Yes, use darker shadows on your eyes because they will make the eyes seem smaller.
Here is my demonstration of how the shadow can make your eye appear as if it has changed in size - note that the shadow used on the right image is 'Carbon' by M.A.C, and on the left image I used 'Malt' and 'Espresso' by M.A.C:

Four: Working with your lashes

For larger eyes:  Curling your eye lashes before applying your usual mascara makes so much difference! if you perform this step your eyes will appear much larger than usual.
For smaller eyes: just skip curling the eye lashes!
The following image shows my eyes without curling or Mascara, and after they have been curled and coated with one layer of Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara

My favorite Mascaras for this are by Dior, specifically the Diorshow Iconic Curl Mascara!
In the end, I would say there are so many other tips that generally enable a makeup user to change the shape of the eyes, including the way you draw your liquid liner - which is a very broad topic that needs plenty of explanation - as well as the highlighting of your brow bone which really lifts the eye area, making it seem larger too! These tricks also tend to vary according to the individual.
I hope you found this useful.
lots of love,

Wednesday Wishlist

Hello there all you lovely people! I'm Samantha from Blue-bells. I am here doing a guest blogger post. Being apart of etail PR has allowed me to spread my fashion wings and has introduced me to some FABULOUS new clothing brands. Today i have bought to you, all the way from sunny Hampshire, my favourite summer styles from a few of these brands. First up is Motel Rocks:

motel rocks

motel rocks by samoxborrow featuring black flats

This outfit is perfect for all the summer festivals.  Matching these shades of pink with the black is so summery and chick, i love it! JuJu jellies and dungarees are my two favourite trends this summer. 90s fashion has made one of the biggest come backs we have seen for a while!

AX paris

AX paris by samoxborrow featuring flat shoes

Here i have put together the perfect girly outfit which can be dressed up with some heels for a perfect date outfit or dressed down with some flats or flatforms for the perfect summery day outfit. What shoes would you pair with this beautiful dress?

Karma clothing

To finish off i have styled thee biggest summer trend which is of course: Crop tops. Whether it's a croped tee or a bralett we are all a victim of hopelessly falling in love with the crop. I like to pair it with high waisted shorts. First of all we have a brilliant  monochrome outfit which is dying to be worn at a festival. Then the sexy look of red and black for those killer nights out and last but not least, when you want dress it down for a day at the beach red and white with the cute cut out makes it a beach savy outfit! Which one is your favourite?

What has been your favourite summer trend?

Love,
Samantha

Kallie from 'Beauty From Within' talks foundation!

Hey Guys! I am so excited to be writing this post! I'm Kallie, the face behind beautyfromwithin and I'm here to talk to you about one of my summer must have products.

Rimmel London 'Wake Me Up' Foundation - £8.99

Now unless you've been living under a rock for about a year, you would know that Rimmel London have really uped their game with their make up products. The one product that has stood out to me and to many others, is the Wake Me Up foundation.

I bought this over a year ago (yikes) and it is still going strong! When I first bought it I wore it all the time even through the winter which some people don't do as its more of a summer foundation but I think it looks brilliant all year round. The foundation itself gives a radiant glow due to the shimmery particles but it doesn't make you look like a disco ball, it gives you that healthy looking glow that everyone lusters for.
I use the new Garnier Moisture Match for Dull Skin beforehand which means it doesn't go oily, patchy nor does it stick to any dry patches on my face. I tend to use a brush when applying this foundation to give it a flawless finish but it works just as well using your fingers. I like to use this foundation as a light coverage during the day so it lets my freckles show through and the glow that my Moisture Match gives if its a hot day. But I like a medium coverage during the night and this is easy to do as it is buildable.
Why else do I love it so much? Well, the smell of it is divine like all the other Rimmel foundations. I love the fact that all the Rimmel foundations also have different coloured caps so if your like me and have a lot of Rimmel foundations, you know what foundation is which due to the coloured caps. Well thought out Rimmel! And, it has SPF 15 which is ideal for summer!

I seriously cannot fault this foundation 1 bit. It really does what it says on the tin (or bottle), it does give you that glowing awake look to your skin.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll see you again soon!

Necklace DIY by Megan

Hey lovely people,

This week I did a DIY: Sunflower Collar Tips post and I used a chain from a three-part necklace I bought in Topshop. Well, I felt quite silly letting this second part of the necklace go to waste just because it had no clasps on it. So instead of going online and buying a packet of jewellery clasps for one necklace, I decided to make my own way of tying the necklace together.

Top 5 girly films by Jenny

There's nothing that I like better than spending time chilling with my friends, watching film after film, and I thought I'd share my top five girly afternoon  film picks!

The films I've chosen are an assortment of mushy, romantic films, and hilarious comedies!

One Day, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, is based on David Nicholls' bestseller of the same name. Aside from Hathaway's very dodgy English accent, this is a film that will tug at your heartstrings as you ponder over the 'will they? won't they?' relationship between the two main character, Em and Dex. Definitely one for the romantics out there!

The Notebook, starring Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, is possibly one of the most loved and raved about romantic dramas of our time. It has that 'kissing in the rain' moment! I guarantee you will cry!

Never Let Me Go, starring Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightly, is based on another best-selling novel, this time by Kazuo Ishiguro. It's a very sad film, but a brilliant one at that. It's set in a dystopia of sorts, so if you like that kind of film, it's a winner!

Juno, starring Ellen Page and co, is one of my favourite films. It has me in stitches every time, thanks to the witty comments and remarks throughout. A story surrounding teen pregnancy has never been as brilliantly funny as this one, and Ellen Page's portrayal of Juno is undeniably a modern classic! One for those with a sense of humour, for sure!

Last but not least, American Pie: Reunion. Not a girly film as such, but a hilarious conclusion to the famous American Pie films that began in the late 1990's. The original cast members still play their roles brilliantly, especially Alyson Hannigan, and this film will have any American Pie fan snorting in their seat!

I hope you enjoyed this post and that if you decide to watch any of these films, that you aren't disappointed by them!

Celeb Style: Millie Mackintosh at Glastonbury!

Written by Lucy from flawedfairytale
So England finally has some sunshine! With everyone scuttling off abroad on exotic holidays, sipping cocktails by the sea and making sandcastles (the latter of which I am most jealous about..), why not celebrate England's weather by popping a few new items in your wardrobe and throwing a festival inspired get-together instead?!

Glastonbury was full of inspiring celebrity festival style, from Florence Welch's boho patchwork pieces to Millie Mackintosh's contemporary chic. I'm going to show how you can take a celebrity style and recreate it in a more purse-friendly manner - let's get started!

1. Sunflower Crown £22.00 - Oh My Love
2. Military Sequin Sleeve Jacket £39.99 - Karma Clothing
3. Over the Knee Riding Boots £39.99 - AX Paris
4. Turtleneck Crop Top £12.00 - Motel
5. Faux Leather Shorts £11.99 - Karma Clothing
Here's a recreation of Millie's Glastonbury style, complete with a little bit of sparkle to help you shine under the sun! Looking outside right now, needing a jacket is probably the last thing on your mind - though it's probably safer to keep the jacket in tow just in case we are graced with an untimely arrival of The 'usual' Great British Summer... *sigh*

There's your outfit sorted - now all that's left to do is invite your friends, grab some food and drink and party!- because let's face it - it's probably going to be raining tomorrow..

Wednesday Wishlist by The Life of Maisie

Hi everyone! My name is Maisie and I blog over at The Life of Maisie and i'm so glad that I can share this post with you all!

I've been a huge fan of Lashes for a while now and I've had my eye on this particular dress for what seems like forever! I adore the watercolour effect on the skirt, it's just so summery with all the wonderful colours. I honestly don't think I can give this dress enough praise! My list of things that I need to buy is long, but I think this might just creep up to the top, oopsy!

I've been looking for a perfect day time watch that I can wear with my wardrobe and I think I've found it! The rose gold tone is lovely and compliments the pinky/creamy strap perfectly! It's ideal for you if your summer wardrobe consists of light pastel colours and creams. You know it'll stand out with any outfit because c'mon, it's Pauls Boutique and everyone loves Pauls Boutique! If you ask me, it's a steal at just £40 and if you can, you should get your hands, or should I say wrist, on one asap!

As a lover of all shoes, I had to pick a pair that would equally stand out with this outfit and give it a little bit of the excitement/dare to factor. Whoever was the first person to place spikes on shoes was a genius and I for one love the look! There are so many different style's of shoes with spikes, from flats to heels to boots, all you have to do is choose your favourite!

Okay if you've clicked the direct link for the bag I know what you're thinking, "but it's from the children's section" but look how adorable it is, I love it! I'm lusting over so many items with embroidery on at the minute, aren't you? Little bags are probably my favourite as sometimes it's just irritating carrying a humongous handbag around with you when all you've got in it is your purse, your keys and your phone. So there you have, your perfect little go to summer handbag from the children's section, no shame!

If I could wear a flower crown every day, I would. As many, I was first introduced to them by making daisy chains as a child, but with the likes of Lana Del Rey rocking one every shoot, it's hard not to love them! There are all sorts of different ones but for this outfit, I think this daisy crown fits perfectly with the summer vibe in this look.

I for one love this outfit and I don't think you can go wrong with it this summer! I'd love to see how you would rock this dress!

Lee Stafford argan oil review by Angel's Corner

Hello Angels
When Lee Stafford launched the Argan Oil hair care line i was beyond glad. I have been on a look out for Argan Oil enriched hair care products for sometime now. The much raved about Moroccan Oil is not that easily available here in Dubai plus its very expensive and hence i had to explore my other options.

♥ Lee Stafford Nourishing Conditioner
♥ Lee Stafford Deep Nourishing Treatment

I clearly was trying my luck with these but indeed they proved to be wonderful. Before i even begin to comment on the actual product, let me state a few known facts and benefits about Argan Oil. The Oil is extracted from the nuts of Argan Tree, native to Morocco.
The oil stands out for its moisturizing ability. It proves to be highly beneficial to hairs with frizz and dryness. Our hair gets subjected to flat irons, rollers and blow dryers on a almost regular basis, hence moisturizing is a must in your hair care routine. Its rich in several vitamins (E, F) and nutrients which can make your hair stronger and healthier. Its best when used in 100% natural form
a
Coming back to the subject product,  Argan Oil is one of the major components in Lee Staafords new hair care line. I have been using the two above mentioned products for over a month now and i have clearly experienced a material change in the quality of my hair. My frizzy ends have literally disappeared  When compared to my earlier hair care products, like Redken, though they left my hair smooth and frizz free, the effect lasted only for a day. After which, i evidently saw the frizz coming back.

To add further, my hair looks shiny and feels a lot smoother. The product doesn't weigh or grease your hair. It leaves your hair fresh and lively. Plus whenever, i have used the two products in combo, i have experienced minimum flyaways. Using an hair spray to keep them at bay was my only option before. Your hair feels fresh, smooth, light and shiny between washes. The impact stays for more than 2 days or more!!! The scent however, is slightly on the stronger end. Hence, do take a sniff before you buy them, i do not want any of you ending up with a heady after a wash!

The product, yes is pricey. But i don't really mind paying the sum for the benefit i receive. And i totally recommend it to all...
Have you tried out the new line by Lee Stafford? Or any other Argan Oil based product? Tell me what you think? Are they worth the price you pay?
♥ xoxo

How to Get Olivia Palermo's Summer Style by: Diane Taha

Tailored, layered, and refined. Those are the words to describe Olivia Palermo's style. The former star of The City; and current face for Oscar de la Renta on the Outnet, is famous for her impeccable style that consists of blazers, cinched waist tops, and colorful prints. A common theme throughout her wardrobe is fit. In a recent interview with Refinery29, Olivia advises readers to learn one's body proportions and tailor clothing, if needed. In addition to her styling tips, here are four inspirational summer looks you can steal from the fashion forward socialite with the help of my buyer recommendations:

1. Stella McCartney; 2. Saint Laurent; 3. Rebecca Minkoff; 4. Mango; 5. ASOS

In this outfit, Olivia pairs a striped peplum jacket from Tibi with an animal print skirt and a red Louis Vuitton duffel bag for a pop of color. Both stripes and animal print are timeless, versatile trends, and the combination of both yields an interesting mashup (much like my beloved stripes + florals combination!). The addition of the flat black shoes and cat eye sunglasses create a fun, relaxed look without compromising on sophistication.

1. Elizabeth & James; 2. Zara; 3. Gryphon; 4. Marc Jacobs; 5. Ivanka Trump

Olivia makes jackets a year-round staple, and this ensemble is a prime example. Jackets, blazers, and cardigans help dress-up an otherwise casual outfit and add a layer (no pun intended!) of sophistication. Here, she wears a yellow tank and a maxi skirt with caged sandals. It's not often that we see Olivia in a bohemian-inspired outfit, but this one comes pretty close.

1. Diane von Furstenberg; 2. New Look; 3. Zara; 4. Zara

One of my favorite outfits from Olivia, this outfit takes workplace style to a whole new level (who said workwear has to be bland?!). This is the second peplum top in my post, which is no surprise since peplums are a favorite of Olivia's. Peplums create a more feminine silhouette, adding definition to your waist and the illusion of curves. Here, Olivia adds a leopard print accent belt to the peplum for a tighter fit. The contrast of the coral peplum and trousers with the black and white blazer simultaneously presents a sunny demeanor with a dose of professionalism. The colorful ankle-strapped heels complete the polished look without seeming overdone.

1. Zara; 2. Zara; 3. Alexander McQueen

Not one to shy away from wearing yellow, Olivia has popularized this understated color. Most notable is her lush Katie Ermillio gown;from last April's charity event in New York City. A comfortably casual yet chic alternative to the gown is the following ensemble. Here she dons a white embroidered, pleated blouse with yellow pants and yellow loafers. Want more tips on how to wear yellow? Check out my blog post on how to wear yellow for the summer.

I'd love to hear what you think of these outfits and my buyer picks. You can catch up with me on twitter @stylecontext and on my blog at Style Context.

Wednesday wish list: Summer Essentials!

Summer Wants

Hello so my name is Emily and I blog over at Emily's Blog I have been wanting to get a couple of things for summer, and thought I would share with you all, what I have been lusting over this Summer!

Maybelline BB Cream
I have been wanting to try a BB cream for a while now. I have tried a couple of samples and I think this was a firm contender of mine. I think during summer that foundation is a "No no!". Since it gets hot (not much in Britain though..) there is no need to have foundation clogging up your skin, especially since it would probably melt off! Maybelline also say that the BB cream " blurs imperfections, brightens, evens skin tone, hydrates and also protects with SPF 30". All good stuff in my opinion.

Denim Dungarees
They seem to be all the rage, this summer! I like the idea that you can wear alot with them, sandals, converse, crop tops, normal tops, shirts the options are endless!

Sandals
I think any type of sandals are a must in summer, they keep your feet cool and there are also many stylish designs. Here is just one pair, of the many I have seen and these are from Hollister. I love the African feel that they give, with the beaded detailing down front.

Maybelline Waterproof Mascara
Waterproof mascara is an essential for summer! It will stop you from looking like a panda when you come out of the pool. I haven't yet tried a mascara from Maybelline but I know that I should do soon, as there are so many good reviews about them.

Fruit Tees
I love any t-shirts/vests but my favorites have to have some kind of "funky" shape/logo on them. One of my favorites has to be the one from H&M, which has a watermelon on it. Also I love this one from H&M, again that has a pineapple on it!

Neon Nails
Recently, since getting Fear & Desire from Essie. I have been lusting over neons, next on my list is a neon pink. I don't know what it is about it but I love the fun aspect of them!

So that is my some things that I have been wanting recently, what are yours?
