Wednesday Wishlist: Ax Paris plus size

When I found AX Paris had a plus size range I was over the moon!! All of their clothes are amazing and such good quality! Everything in their range is truly beautiful and makes any girl feel special! AX Paris has such a diverse range and I can never ever decide on one thing! When I try on their clothes I always just feel so girly, pretty and lady like. The sizing of the products is always accurate and the materials sit well on us fuller figure ladies!
I have come up with two small collages to show you! The first one is for dressy wear, dinners, nights out with the girls and special occasions. I choose two dresses which I am in LOVE with at the moment! I feel as though spring is upon us we need to get some wear from all the lovely darker shades in our closets before the pastel tidal wave hits us! Also for special occasions who doesn’t feel gorgeous in black!
The first dress is totally eye catching and is truly as I said a ladies dress. The second one you could really rock it up with killer heels and a clutch and still look beyond stunning!!

2. Stud Wedge Shoe €39.19
3. Leopard Belt Chiffon Dress €58.80 now €41.99
4. Coil Bangle €8.40

The second collage I want to share with you is something a little simpler. Clothes for everyday wear but items that you could still transform into something sleek and sexy for that special night out.
Dresses 1 and 4 from this collage are skater dresses something that for me personally really complement my figure and make me feel comfortable all the time. Anything leopard print is a winner in my books and belongs in my wardrobe. Number 3 are a cute little set of ankle boots with a tassel which you could wear with anything! Something, my shoe collection is severely lacking at the moment. The dresses number 2 and number 6 are just so cute. I really don’t see how any girl could turn these away. Cute bird and feather print give them that girly touch. Lastly the Heart jumper and statement necklace, perfect for lunch with the girls or a day in college.

1. Collar Button Front Dress €42 now €27.99

2. Bird Print Chiffon Tunic €49 now €33.59

AX Paris is a brand that I have become very fond of over the past few months and I would highly recommend giving them a try. I know certain things aren’t for everyone but with this range I can guarantee you that you will find at least one piece that you will never want to let go of!

Mackerel with Chilli Mango Salsa

As the weather allegedly warms up, market stalls will be filled with locally-sourced fresh fruit. During the spring and summer, I always try to incorporate fresh fruit in nearly every dish I make, the savoury and the sweet. There's something elegant and slightly outrageous about pairing a slab of meat or briny fish with delicate fruit. It's invigorating and it gets your palate going with the way the flavours marry and play off of one another. And that's the best thing about this mackerel dish. It's light and refreshing, perfect for summertime tea in the garden or a light lunch.

Ingredients:
For the chili mango salsa
1 teaspoon dried mint
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 fresh large mango, peeled and diced
1 fresh red chili, deseeded and diced
2 spring onions, chopped
pinch of sea salt and cracked black pepper

For the mackerel
2 mackerel fillets, skin on
salt and pepper
low-calorie cooking spray

A portion of wild and basmati rice to serve.

Method
Prepare the rice according to the packet. While it cooks, get on with the rest of the dish.
Mix the mango, chili, spring onions, mint and lime juice in a bowl.
Season lightly with salt and pepper, cover and set aside.
With a sharp knife, cut three or four slashes in the flesh of each fillet, taking care not to entirely slice through the fish.
Season both sides of the fish with a bit of salt and pepper.
Spray the mackerel skin with the cooking spray and pan fry, skin-side down over high heat for about three minutes.
Turn over and cook for a further three minutes or until cooked through.

Rainbow Cupcakes

Hi, I'm Emma and I have an obsession with baking cakes...

The weird thing is, I never actually eat my own cakes - I make them & My Boyfriend eats them (and takes them to work for the lads)! Although, I may have to try these bad boys out as i'm quite impressed with how they turned out!

If you want to give them a try, here's my step by step 'How to...'

For 12-18 Cakes, you will need:
110g Caster Sugar
110g Margarine (softened)
110g Self raising flour (sifted)
2 Medium Eggs
1tbsp Milk
1 tsp Vanilla Essence
Food colouring x 4 (Red, Blue, Green & Yellow work best)

For the icing:
140g Margarine (softened)
280g Icing Sugar
1-2tbsp Milk

Step 1:
Mix together the Sugar & Margarine until light and creamy...

Step 2:
Add the eggs and the milk then fold together (add a little flour if you need to stop it curdling)...

Step 3:
Add the flour and the vanilla essence and mix together...

Step 4:
Separate into 4 bowls and one of the food colouring to each bowl. Mix together until fully blended...

Step 5:
Divide into cake cases by using a teaspoon of each mixture in each case. The messier it is, the better it will turn out!

Bake for approximately 12-18 minutes (checking after 12 minutes every 3 minutes) and then transfer to a board to cool.

Step 6 - The Icing:
Mix together softened margarine and icing sugar, gradually adding the icing sugar (to avoid a puff of white going all over you!) and pipe / spoon onto cool cakes. Sprinkle with whatever topping you like, I went for Nerds as they are so colourful.

And there you have it! I love making cakes and after Adam bought me this cute cupcake maker for christmas, I haven't stopped using it.

Photography tips by Filipa

As fashion bloggers we all get in touch with photography by taking pictures for our outfit posts.

Since I always loved photography, I decided to go a little bit further and photograph everything that catches my eye and share it one the blog. I love taking photos of the nature because the nature is perfect in every way. Also, abandoned houses, rings, sneakers and tables. Something you can find on my blog quite often.

Although I’m just an amateur and  use a simple digicam (precisely a Canon Powershot A810), I thought I could give you some tips.

First, if you aren’t using Photoshop, here are some quite good online sites for photo editing like Pixlr and Picmonkey, or if you’re more into Polaroids you can download a free application.

Second, try not to use way too many effects. Sometimes it’s just enough to increase the contrast. I, for example, increase the contrast when I’m editing the photos of the nature. But when I’m editing other posts I tend to use the black and white effect because it gives the photos a special touch and makes them more mysterious.

Also, I don’t usually work with Photoshop because I’m really bad at it and don’t understand it very much, but you can get great pictures by using the Julia Trotti’s curves. Using the curves is quite easy so it doesn’t matter if you’re not good with Photoshop. You can download Julia Trotti’s curves from the free curve Friday on her blog.

Like I said, I’m no professional but I hope I helped some of you. And if you want to know more about blog photography, what camera you should buy etc., I recommend you to read this post written by Madeline about 7 basics of blog photography.
